History will remember the Servant of God Paul VI as a pope who had perhaps the most difficult pontificate in all of history, during a time when the world (and to some extent, the Church) was cracking up and someone had to steer as steady a course as possible. It’s too bad he is so terribly maligned by those both on the so-called left and the so-called right. They should be ashamed for speaking about that of which they know nothing: what it is like to be the pope who was called to simply hold together the Barque of Peter as best as possible on the rockiest of currents
