Turns out pheromones, those odorless chemical scents we all emit, are not only messengers of eros, or human attraction. They may be the key to identifying not only a desirable, but a genetically optimal mate, and Miss Kelly gives <a title="That's Why It's Called the Divorce Pill" href="http://misskelly.typepad.com/miss_kelly_/2008/08/thats-why-some.html" onclick="return TrackClick('http%3A%2F%2Fmisskelly.typepad.com%2Fmiss_kelly_%2F2008%2F08%2Fthats-why-some.html','That')" target="_blank">a fabulous overview to various studies </a>showing how chemical contraceptives thwart the whole natural process of finding and choosing one&#8217;s spouse.</p>
<p>My favorite line? &#8220;And you definitely can&#8217;t fool the vomeronasal organ. &#8221; If I had a dollar for every time&#8230;Smells like the contraceptive movement is going up in smoke!</p>

<p>I just got my Diocese of Richmond newsletter, &#8220;<a target="_blank" href="http://www.richmonddiocese.org/nfp/msgr2007-11.pdf" onclick="return TrackClick('http%3A%2F%2Fwww.richmonddiocese.org%2Fnfp%2Fmsgr2007-11.pdf','The+NFP+Messenger')" title="The NFP Messenger">The NFP Messenger.&#8221;</a> There&#8217;s a testimony by Pam Pilch, who tells how marital struggles and her mother&#8217;s bout with breast cancer was the impetus to get off the Pill and seek another family planning method. Eventually the &#8220;childfree by choice&#8221; lawyer found Natural Family Planning through the Couple to Couple League, discovered her fertility was a gift not a disease, and her and her husband became open to life. Today they are a thriving family of five.</p>
